After moving to Moab in the early ‘90s, his new passion became old Ford Broncos, especially his 1972. He was a member of RedRock 4-Wheelers and a Tail Gunner during Jeep Safari — a family tradition his children and grandchildren will forever cherish.

Tamela loved good, classic music like The Eagles and Tom Petty and had a good eye for arts and crafts. A lover of animals and plants, Tamela had one of the biggest, sweetest hearts—beautiful inside and out. She also had a great sense of humor and spirit for life that many people cherished.

Rusty and her husband Bruce camped along the river, panned for gold, collected pinyon nuts and found all manner of ways to earn a living in Moab. Eventually, they bought the Entrada Ranch (now the Rio Mesa Center) and ran it as a small guest ranch, long before Moab became a sought-out destination.

Moab became Jacci’s home where she continued her art, painting with acrylics. She was active in the local art community participating in the annual studio tours. She was a life-long environmentalist, writing articles defending the conservation of northern spotted owls and the protection of the natural spaces around Moab.
