Cosmo’s Corner: Apples and autumn

Hello and meow everyone. It’s Cosmo the library cat. Don’t you just love autumn? I love the cool nights and all the crunchy, colorful leaves, especially when it’s windy and I can chase them around the library courtyard. I’m also very fond of a nice, crisp apple. I’ve noticed that you humans are quite fond of snacking on them, and rightly so: they’re very wholesome. But like any self-respecting cat, I enjoy them for their pleasing shape and the fact that they are very fun to play with. (Batting those little crab apples down the sidewalk is one of life’s sweet pleasures!)

Grand County Public Library is celebrating this fine fall season with an “Apples and Autumn Storytime,” geared for younglings ages 3-9 and their caregivers. You’re invited to join us in the library’s large meeting room on Saturday, November 18 at 10:30 a.m. for stories and songs about autumn and apples. After an apple-themed craft, you’ll get to enjoy some yummy treats in the form of—you guessed it—apple juice and applesauce with a choice of toppings. I hope you’ll join us for this special storytime, and meanwhile, get outside and enjoy this glorious time of year.
