Cosmo’s Corner: “Kindness Rocks!”

Hello, buenos días, meow, and miau, it’s Cosmo the library cat.  As an aspiring multilinguist and a proud member of the wonderful Moab community, I’m delighted to invite you to our latest Summer Reading Program, “All Together with Community and the Moab Valley Multicultural Center.”

Join us on Tuesday, July 18 at 2:00 p.m. at Grand County Public Library as we partner with our friends from MVMC for a reading in English and Spanish of the picture book “The Day You Begin/El Dia en Que Descubres Quien Eres.”

After the story, we will do crafts and activities celebrating kindness and community.  We will paint kindness rocks, create tissue paper flowers, and help decorate bilingual welcome banners. For those of you unfamiliar with kindness rocks, a kindness rock is a regular rock that has a caring message painted on it.  Messages of kindness might include, “You are loved,” “Believe in yourself,” or “Aren’t you a handsome cat who always keeps his paws clean!”

This free event is geared towards children ages 3 to 10 and their caregivers, but all ages are welcome. I hope to see you there, mis amigos. Que tengan una buena semana! Have a good week!
