Letter to the Editor: Celebrating the first residents of Arroyo Crossing

An image that says "Moab Sun News" then in larger type: "LETTER TO THE EDITOR"

It is with great excitement that the board of the Moab Area Community Land Trust awaits the first 19 families moving into brand new housing at Arroyo Crossing! This great move-in is anticipated in September/October thanks to the hard work of our partners, Community Rebuilds and the Housing Authority of Southeast Utah, as well as work by the road, legal, and community development departments of Grand County. Of course, huge kudos go to the VERY hard work of the new homeowners who put in 30 plus hours/week for the last several months to build their homes! It has been a long haul during one of the hottest (and now wettest) years on record!

At this time, I would like to thank County Commissioner Mary McGann and County Attorney Christina Sloan. These two dedicated women have spent countless hours going over documents, finding solutions, and getting it DONE! Our community is indebted to them for this workforce housing solution that will last for generations to come at Arroyo Crossing.

And now, ONWARD to the upcoming 32-unit rental apartment complex and the next 32 new homes and duplexes for our local workers!
