Musical Story Hour in Old City Park

Hello, my friends! It’s Cosmo the Library Cat. The librarians and I are thrilled to announce a live, in-person Musical Story Hour on Saturday, April 23 at 10:30 a.m., at Old City Park. I haven’t been this excited since someone gave the librarians a laser pointer (I’ll get you, red dot!).

Four times each year, Grand County Public Library teams up with the Moab Music Festival to offer a special Musical Story Hour for children. This Story Hour’s musical guests will be the talented Moab Community Dance Band. This band plays both traditional and modern music from around the world.

The featured storybook is called “Passing the Music Down,” written by Sarah Sullivan and illustrated by Barry Root. “Passing the Music Down” is a touching story about a young boy learning to play music from an older musician and becoming friends with him. It will be lots of fun listening to the story and the music in a beautiful setting. If you’re lucky, maybe the ducks and geese will join in. They’re not as musically talented as I am, but they’re pretty good!

There will also be free Take and Make craft project bags. I hope all you youngsters will join the fun at Old City Park for Musical Story Hour, which is made possible with additional support from the City of Moab. Let the meowsic play!
