Soup feeds the soul

When author Adrienne Posey said, “Good food warms the heart and feeds the soul,” she probably didn’t know about Moab’s annual Soup Bowl Fundraiser on Nov. 3. This year, the second annual Soup Bowl Fundraiser and Ceramics Silent Auction benefited the Seekhaven Family Crisis and Resource Center, a local nonprofit agency that plans to use the proceeds to expand food programs at the shelter and help people with more than “just the basics.” Pictured from left to right at this year’s Soup Bowl Fundraiser are Callie Ochsner, Jamie Shalvey, Simon Bumstead, Carol Meteyard, Melissa Graciosa, Brittany Vallene and Claire Donnelly. The group is a part of another effort to help people in Moab called Community Rebuilds, a nonprofit that addresses housing for low-income residents. [Photo by Murice D. Miller / Moab Sun News]
