Grand County High School senior Kane Scherer and junior Jaxen Saunders were each named to the PGA Utah Section 3A All State second team for 2018, while junior Luke Williams earned honorable mention.
The Utah High School All-State Golf Program was developed 20 years ago. All-State recognition is based solely on scores, weighted 35 percent by scores in region play and 65 percent by scores at the state tournament.
“The quality of high school players has improved so much over the past few years, the difference between making an All-State team or not comes down to 1 stroke or even less throughout the season,” said Aaron Goodman, Utah Section PGA tournament director.
