Donors raise over ,200 for medical travel

The American Cancer Society and Moab Rocks Radio Station teamed up with local businesses and community members just before Thanksgiving to raise fuel money for members of the community who need to travel outside of the area for medical treatment.

Altogether, they raised more than $1,200 for Chevron gas cards, and organizers of the fundraiser will now distribute the $25 cards to Moab residents until they are gone.

In order to receive a gas card, you simply need to provide proof of your residence and medical appointment by emailing them to melparriott@gmail.com, or texting them to Jason Parriott at 435-260-8003.

“We will do our best to make sure we can help as many community members as we possibly can,” organizers said.

In addition to the American Cancer Society and Moab Rocks 102.9 FM, organizers thanked the following donors for their support: Zax, Moab Grill, Canyon Voyages, the Malleys, Kiss the Sun Studios, Crystal’s Cakes and Cones, Wicked Brew, The Blu Pig, Rave’n Image, Moab Diner, The Spoke, City Market, Pizza Hut, Canyon Voyages, Gonzo Inn, Canyonlands by Night, Fairfield Inn, Moab Watersports and Hugentobler Dental.
