Real estate market heats up for spring

Real estate agent Lenore Beeson, right, and Deanna King, do a walk-through of a recently listed three-bedroom, two-bath home for sale at 2194 S. Arena Roja. Beeson, who works for Byrd & Co. said that in the first quarter of 2016, the Moab area had 25 sales of single-family homes, with an average sale price of $251,000. Moab is facing a shortage of listings under $300,000, and Beeson said that the area has seen real estate appreciation rates of about 7 to 10 percent over the past 12 months.
