A helicopter, owned by Minuteman Aviation, crashed near the Anticline Overlook area of Lockhart Basin in northern San Juan County at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11. According to the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office, the pilot, who was the sole occupant, was injured. A second helicopter was in the area and was able to transport the pilot to Moab Regional Hospital. At this time, it is unknown what caused the accident. Both helicopters were in the area doing mineral survey work and were contracted by Green River Energy, who in turn were doing work for Fidelity Exploration and Developmentr.
