This year’s recipient of firefighter of the year is firefighter Erik Edge.
Edge has been with the Moab Valley Fire Protection District (MVFPD) for almost two years. He joined the Moab volunteer fire department in February 2012.
Erik was born 1971 and moved to Moab from Georgia in 2006. In his free time he likes spending time with his family and friends. Edge is engaged to Becca Webb and has two young daughters: Payton, 12 and Addyson, 2.
“Erik has gone above and beyond the normal duties of a firefighter in trainings and in the daily operations of the department,” said Moab Fire Department administrative assistant T. J. Brewer. “His dedication, loyalty, and hard work have earned him the respect and admiration of his peers and the prestigious award of 2013 Moab Valley Fire Protection District.”
