Gail Ruth Jackson Ryan

Gail Ruth Jackson Ryan passed away quietly in her home on Oct. 22, 2013 surrounded by her loved ones. The oldest of three daughters, Gail was born Sept. 5, 1931 in Stephenville, Texas to Hollis and Pauline (Kay) Jackson.

She graduated from Stephenville High School in 1948.

On July 2 1955 Gail married Chester “Chet” Ryan. Chet had a career in the Air Force and was stationed at several bases. They had three children: sons James “Jack” (Julie) Jackson and Richard Alan “Kepha” (Aron), and daughter, Lisa Kaye (Roger) Strickland.

After the death of her husband in 1971, Gail furthered her education and graduated from Chico State University with a bachelor’s degree in business. In 1984 she went to work for the U.S. Forest Service as public information and human resources.

Gail had a devout faith and took the baptism name Abigail Jael. She loved to draw and paint when she was younger, read and study the scriptures, but the love she had for her family was her greatest joy.

She leaves behind her youngest sister Vicki Lynn “Annie”, three children, eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to Elisheba Zarahiah and her children who took great care of “Abigail” whom she loved as her own.
