Erma Cheryl Gordon passed away on August 5, 2013 at the Moab Regional Hospital after her nine month battle with lung cancer. Cheryl fought hard and did whatever treatments it took to give her more time with loved ones.
Cheryl was born January 3, 1945 in Myton to James and Louise Fullmer. In 1961 Cheryl married Kent Gordon of Park City. They later made their home in Moab. From this union they had two children, Kent (Suzy) Gordon and Tammy (John) Schafer both of Moab. Cheryl is survived by six grand children; seven great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her husband Kent, her parents James and Louise Fullmer and her siblings Larry Fullmer and Georgianna Kelley.
Cheryl loved to play her guitar and sing. She never had any guitar lessons and learned to play by ear. Everyone loved it when she had her guitar out and was singing.
Cheryl worked at The Golden Stake Restaurant, Moab Valley Inn, City Market and Comfort Suites.
One of Cheryl’s favorite things to do after her workday ended was to put on her pajamas. The last months of her life were spent most often in her slippers and pajamas. If it weren’t for the fact that someone would think they were weird, the family may have buried her in her jammies.
Cheryl had a love for animals – especially the cats. She had her own cats and many strays that she cared for.
Cheryl loved her family more than anything. She attended various activities for her children and grand children over the years.
All who knew Cheryl knew of her humor. She will be missed by many. We end with her favorite phrase, “Shut the hell up!”
