County grannies demand an earlier performance

Dear Editor,

In a move to placate a militant audience from the hinterlands, Moab Community Theatre has agreed to add a Sunday matinee performance of the upcoming comedic stage play “A Company of Wayward Saints,” to their production schedule at a discounted price.

Besieged by no less than several fervent fans from afar, Director Shane Bartosh and Producer Doni Kiffmeyer finally bowed to accommodate the needs of local theatre lovers who really really, really want to see the show, but must be home before dark.

Bartosh and Kiffmeyer agreed that some folks are hesitant to attend an evening performance when it means a long, dark drive home to Castle Valley or LaSal.

An afternoon matinee also makes theatre more accessible to those with early bedtimes.

Originally slated for six evening performances beginning at 7 p.m. over two weekends Feb. 28, Mar. 1, 2, and Mar.7, 8 and 9 at Star Hall for $10 at the door, the play will now also be performed 2 p.m., Sunday afternoon, March 3 Star Hall. Tickets are only $7 for the matinee.
