Moab’s First Lego League Teams through the BEACON Afterschool Program took third and fourth place at the Southeastern Regional Robotics Qualifier in Price Utah on Saturday Jan. 5. The BEACON HMK Team, Robocreeps, placed third and also earned the Judge’s Trophy. Pictured in the photo from left to right: Ben McGraw, Ethan Cornelius and Cayden Kirks.
The BEACON Middle School Team, Grand Roboteers, placed fourth. Team members included Cameron Wakefield, Ryan Reed, Mackay Wakefield, and Grace Osusky. The young robotics engineers built and pre-programmed their robots to complete a number of missions that were accomplished during three 2.5 minute trials.
