Betty Rose Sagrillo

Betty Rose Sagrillo, 89, passed away at her home on October 31, 2012 surrounded by her loving family.

Sagrillo was born to William Clifford and Birdie Price Lurvey on July 2, 1923 in Grand Junction, Colo. After graduating from high school she married Art Sagrillo in January 1942. They moved to Moab in the early 1960s where she continued to live. Her husband passed away in 1998.

Sagrillo loved the great scenic views of Moab. She also enjoyed being involved in the Senior Center with any capacity she could. She was loved by many and will be missed by us all.

Sagrillo is survived her son Alert (Kris) Sagrillo of Paradox, 5 grandchildren Phil Christensen of San Diego, Calif., Tony Vada Sagrillo of Fruita, Colo., Brandon (Victoria) Sagrillo of Grand Junction, Colo., Stephanie Sagrillo of Clifton, Colo., Teri McKenzie Monte Vista, Colo.; 5 great grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Art; a sister, Mildred Burkey; two brothers Raymond and Charles Lurvey; a son, Kenneth Sagrillo; and Sherryl MacLeod.

At Sagrillo’s request, cremation has taken place and a memorial service was held in her honor on Nov. 3, 2012 at 1:00 pm at the Spanish Valley Mortuary.
