Cut it out

Triassic Industries has begun a project on Mill Creek Parkway to remove invasive species and re-vegetation with natives and cultivars, like sycamores, locust and smoke trees. This project was mostly on private property and funded by the property owners, but Triassic has worked closely with the City of Moab to create a plan regarding the removal and re-vegetation, as well as the safety aspects and the temporary closing of the parkway. The goal is to create a more open park like atmosphere free of noxious weeds and invasive trees. These species also migrate from marginal park areas into the wetlands, where they push out native species. (Photo courtesy Triassic Industries)
