Open House: Kane Creek Boulevard Complete Streets Project

Construction of the Kane Creek Boulevard Complete Streets redesign project is scheduled to begin in mid-February and the community is invited to meet the contractor and project kick-off to learn about the road improvements and the project schedule. The open house will be on Thursday, February 8, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Grand Center, 182 North 500 West.

“Kane Creek Boulevard is one of the most heavily used streets in Moab, with 4,000 cars per day traveling between Main Street and 500 West where these improvements are planned. The complete streets design will better ensure safe access for motor vehicles, bicyclists, and pedestrians who rely on Kane Creek Boulevard on a daily basis,” said City Community Development Director Michael Black.

The complete streets approach to designing streets not only considers vehicle traffic but also pedestrians, to help ensure safe, comfortable access for all users.

At the open house, residents can meet the contractors for the project and also view displays that will show the aesthetic improvements, accessibility, crosswalks, on-street parking, conservation, landscaping, and other elements that will be incorporated into the Main Street to 500 West area of Kane Creek Boulevard.
