Castle Valley Farms is dedicated to growing the most nutrient dense, chemical free potatoes possible. Tommy Mayer, who has been the farm’s baker, farm manager, and math and science teacher, will give a presentation about the farm’s journey to potatoes, the science of the relationship between the specific gravity (density) and culinary use of particular varieties, and some health benefits of the more colorful ones. He will bring a Dutch oven potato roast for demonstration and sampling. Potato seed will be available for purchase. Free and open to the public.
