100 years after the 19th Amendment passed, The Vote tells the dramatic story of the hard-fought and transformative campaign waged by American women for the right to vote, resulting in the largest expansion of voting rights in U.S. history.
Our collective stories about the battle for voting rights are as relevant today as they were 100 years ago. The League of Women Voters believes the freedom to vote is a nonpartisan issue. For more than a century, we’ve worked to empower voters and defend democracy.
