Learn how to cook Chinese fried rice, Japanese sushi, and Lao sticky rice using traditional cooking tools and western alternatives.
Kendra Kurihara will teach how to make several Asian dishes with traditional cooking implements from that culture, and firsthand stories of eating these dishes in the country. Kendra will demonstrate how they can be easily adapted for the tools in your kitchen. Participants will mostly observe, but there will be hands-on components. All dishes will be vegetarian; one will include eggs. All ingredients will be provided.
Free and open to the public, but class is limited to 12 participants on a first-come, first-served basis. The class will be located in Moonflower Community Cooperative’s kitchen.
