Beginner Tie Dye

May 8 | 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

About Thom: My name is Thomas Crumrine. I enjoy dying fabrics and exploring new ways to create wild patterns. Tie-dying is fun, especially because there’s no way to go wrong! Each piece is unique. It’s one of my favorite art forms to teach. I enjoy creating things and love to show others how to get started on their own creative journey. I’ve lived in Moab since 2014 and enjoy being part of the community.

Learn how to tie-dye using the low water immersion technique. With this technique we don’t have to wait for days to see your cool new t-shirt! We will have a small talk on the history of dyeing fabrics, materials we use, and different techniques for tying and dying. Afterwards we will tie, dye and washout a t-shirt that you can take home with you. You choose the style and the colors! All materials are provided, but feel free to bring something to dye in addition to the t-shirt!

Class will be held in the Side Yard (weather permitting).
Ages 8+ (children younger than 13 need to be accompanied by an adult)
Please note – registration deadline is one week prior to the class, if you are interested in this class, please sign up before May 1.
Scholarships available, email marcadmin@moabcity.org for the application or more information.
