Abbey’s Desk Concert

Abbey’s Desk Concerts is a music series that brings together musicians near and far to perform at Edward Abbey’s writing desk at Back of Beyond Books. This series is a celebration of weird music and non-traditional venue spaces.
The series will kick off Sunday, March 17 at 7:00pm with music from Compersion and Moab local, Rachel Toups! Bios below –
Rachel Toups:
Louisiana-born folk singer-songwriter Rachel Toups spins tales of nature – both the endless inspiration of the natural world and the depths of humanity – on their 2019 debut EP Sundog, released on Los Angeles-based record label Peconic Records. A self-taught guitarist with formal training in choral music, Toups has developed a cult following over the years. Combining a woodwind-like voice unafraid of challenging octaves and deft finger picking of occasionally unconventional guitar tunings, Toups weaves a sound that has been described as “a captivating mix of soothing and creepy.”
