Three Moab City Council seats—currently occupied by Rani Derasary, Kalen Jones, and Tawny Knuteson-Boyd—are up for election this November. All three current council members were elected in 2015 and again in 2019.
Elected candidates will join Luke Wojciechowski and Jason Taylor as council members. Terms last for four years; all city elected offices are at-large and non-partisan. Those elected to fill the open positions will be sworn in and take office on Jan. 2, 2024.
The candidate filing period ran from June 1 to June 7. As of end of day (5 p.m.) Wednesday, June 7, five people declared candidacy for the three seats: Tawny Knuteson-Boyd, up for re-election; Kaitlin Myers, Patrick Robbins, Colin Topper, and Brad Woodford.
This election will be conducted by mail, and ballot counting will be administered through the Grand County Clerk’s office. To vote in the November general election, voter registration must be completed by 5 p.m. on October 27.
Voters can register online at voter.utah.gov or in person at the Grand County Clerk’s office (125 E. Center St.).
