Hello everyone, it’s Cosmo the library cat inviting you to a special Storytime with a Ranger at the Grand County Public Library. On Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. Ranger Sofia Nicholson from the National Park Service will be here to share stories and activities about desert animals.
The desert around Moab is home to so many fascinating animals, including a couple from the most important taxonomic family, Felidae. I’m talking about my wild cousins, bobcats and mountain lions! I love them, and they’re family, but I recommend keeping your distance if you see them. They’re not as friendly as I am and they have absolutely no patience for being petted. They’re also no good at listening to stories or doing crafts, so I didn’t invite them to the storytime. (Sorry cuz!) But you should totally come and find out more about wild desert critters with Ranger Sofia!
Speaking of crafts, we’ll finish the storytime by making greeting cards. If the weather is nice, we’ll meet outside in the courtyard area. If not, we’ll be in the large meeting room. While all ages are welcome, this storytime is geared towards children 3-9 and their caregivers. As always, it’s free! Meow for now, my friends!
