As the newly elected president of the Museum of Moab’s Board of Trustees, I want to publicly thank the businesses, members and guests who donated their time and money to make the museum’s 60th anniversary celebration on Wednesday, Jan. 17, at the Grand Center a memorable event.
Thanks to Emery Telcom, Red Cliffs Lodge, Castle Creek Winery and Wildland Scapes Nursery for your generous financial support for the food and wine. Thank you, Moab Grill, for preparing and serving such good food and providing real plates, flatware, and water and wine glasses to make this a classy epicurean experience.
I thank our executive director, John Foster; our operations director, Linda Breitenbach; our marketing director, Sarah Sidwell; and our development director, Christy Williams-Dunton, for organizing this memorable event, including the most amazing “Dessert Dash.” Twenty or so members, friends and businesses (Moonflower Community Cooperative and Sweet Cravings) baked incredible desserts that the 22 tables of members and guests bid on; not only did they all receive amazing desserts, but generously donated over $3,000 to support the work of the museum.
Finally, I thank the approximately 170 members and guests for attending this anniversary celebration. You brought renewed energy, enthusiasm and support for the museum’s projects, such as the digital video project about the hardships and difficulties of traveling the Old Spanish Trail that passed through Moab on the way from Santa Fe to the Spanish missions in Southern California.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
