Deb Hren (left), Christopher Hren, CJ Hren and Dr. Stephen Hren took a break from building a new house in Mexico during their spring break.
The Hren family joined others from the Community Church of Moab and partnered with Casas por Cristo to build the small house for a young couple who have one son, and are expecting another child.
Casas por Cristo has been building homes for needy families in parts of Mexico and Guatemala since 1993.
According to Stephen Hren, the newest two-room home was built from the ground up in two-and-a-half days behind a home where the couple lived with a large family.
“It was an amazing experience – one I would do again,” he said. “Everyone who went on the trip agreed that they would participate again.”
