Dog days of summer with Cosmo, the library cat

Hello friends, it’s your good pal, Cosmo the library cat. The dog days of summer are drawing to a close, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still have some fun before summer ends.  Grand County Public Library has a cool event planned for the end of the month. We hope you’ll join us on Tuesday, July 30 at 2:00 for our Superhero Party in the Moab Library’s large meeting room.

It’s said that everyone is the hero of their own story.  I think this means that everyone is the most important person in their own story, which certainly makes sense. However, I firmly believe that everyone has their own heroic superpowers too.  My superpowers include the ability to leap onto tall walls with a single bound and to look fantastic in any photo. Your powers might not be quite as impressive as mine, but I bet they’re still really cool.

At this party, everyone will have a chance to get in touch with their own superhero identity. You can decorate a mask and cape, and have your photo taken at our superhero photo booth.  I predict that it will be a super exciting time!

We’ll also have super-powered refreshments like Batman Bites, Peter Parker Popcorn, and some heroic Captain America treats. Yum!

We will also have free books you can take home with you if enjoying books is one of your superpowers.

This event is geared towards children ages 3 to 12 and their caregivers, but all ages are welcome.

Also, there is still time left to participate in our Summer Reading Program (with awesome prizes!).  Come see us at the library or visit www.tinyurl.com/gcplreads to sign up. You can log any time you’ve spent reading since June 3rd up until midnight on August 11. Happy reading!
