Sharon Kay Conway Pogue – August 5, 1943 – July 18, 2015

Sharon Kay Conway Pogue was born August 5, 1943 in Fort Colins Colorado to Everett & Beedee Conway. she was the third & last child behind Ruth & Bill. This meant she was the apple of her parents’ eyes.

Sharon loved high school and was very active in pep club, debate society, served as class secretary and played baseball. She spent a lot of her time playing cards and practical jokes. During one game day, Timothy Russell swaggered into her life. She later married him or September 27, 1962. Their first born was Russell (Denise) then Mariah (Tolua), Kris & Timothy (Brandy).

Along with being a wife and mother, Sharon continued to learn. She read everything she could and delighted in a myriad of subjects, especially history, theology, Egyptology, European Royal History, poetry & fairy tales. She even wrote a radio skit for Fairytale Theater. She sewed costumes for local plays, canned, preserved food. She also enjoyed painting, quilting, refinishing furniture and making wine. She was always a student and loved to learn and share her knowledge.

Sharon was beloved and in return loved generously. Her and Timmy’s house was always filled with friends, family, dogs and strangers needing food, comfort and conversation.

As her children grew, added to the melee were several sons & daughter in-laws along with grandchildren. Jeremy Pogue, Chelsie Culp, Shandi & Otila Opeta, Xavier Robson, Timothy and Braxston Pogue, Chance Herring & Chelsea Goudswaard.

In the Winter of 1989 she lost her husband and best friend, She learned how to navigate life and become self-sufficient. During this time she met her “Cowboy” Stan Percell, and they spent many years together. Sharon passed away Saturday night with family by her side. Sharon will be missed by all who met and loved her.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday July 23, 2015 at 10:30 am at the Spanish Valley Mortuary with burial following at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
