What’s that I hear? You’ve been reading and listening to books all summer but you haven’t joined Grand County Public Library’s “All Together Now” Summer Reading Program? A wise library cat (that’s me!) once said: “You might as well be earning while you’re learning,” and there’s still time!
Everyone gets a prize for registering, and it just gets better from there! You can estimate any time you’ve spent reading or listening to audiobooks since June 5, log those minutes on the super-easy-to-use Beanstack app, and receive tickets for prize drawings. Prizes include a Cosmo the Library Cat Swag bundle (neato!), a brand-new Kindle e-reader, or gift certificates to some of your favorite local businesses!
For the kiddos out there: each hour you read, or are read to (up to eight hours) you can choose a special reward from our Treasure Chest! And there are super-cool end-of-the-summer prize drawings for the Birth-PreK program, the Children’s program, and the Teen Program, too!
Looking over the librarians’ shoulders the other day, I noticed that lots of participants are really close to completion. You have until August 13 to complete the challenge and put all the prize drawing tickets that you’ve earned into one or more of our end-of-the-summer prize drawings. I know you can do it!
You can get started on www.tinyurl.com/gcplreads. If you’re like me and have a little trouble using computers, or you just prefer not to, your friendly librarians can sign you up and log your reading for you. For more info, call the library at 435-259-1111, or stop by and visit! Here at the library, we think everyone’s a winner, but I’ll keep my whiskers crossed for you to win the very best prize!
