A 3-year-old boy drowned in the pool at the Moab Recreation and Aquatic Center on July 4 and survived due to the life-saving efforts of first responders.
The child was reportedly unresponsive and was not breathing. An off-duty employee of Moab Regional Hospital and lifeguards started CPR and airway support for the child.
Grand County EMS responded to the call at about 4:30 p.m. with two ambulances and the Moab Valley Fire Department and Moab City Police Department.
Grand County EMS said in a press release that the child was revived and a pulse was regained before the boy was transported to Moab Regional Hospital in serious but stable condition.
