Beginning Friday, Aug. 9, the City of Moab will convert Uranium Avenue and a portion of 100 East to one-way traffic flow.
The change is intended to mitigate construction traffic from the building of the new middle school and a hotel on Uranium Avenue.
The new traffic flow requires a change in student drop-offs and pick-ups for Grand County Middle School students.
Parents and guardians will need to use Uranium Avenue to access 100 East (northbound) to drop off and pick up students curbside, in front of the middle school.
Bus drop-off and parking at the school will not be affected. The new traffic flow plan is expected to be in place throughout the 2019-20 and 2020-21 school years, at a minimum.
Officials said the safety of students is a top priority for the school district and City of Moab. Moab City Police will be present to assist with traffic control during drop-off and pick-up times for the first days of school.
For questions related to the changes, contact GCMS Principal Cari Caylor at caylorc@grandschools.org, or 435-259-7158.
