Human activity in southeastern Utah extends back at least 12,000 years. Speakers at the Utah Statewide Archaeological Society (USAS) convention to be held in Blanding on June 8 and 9 will discuss topics related to this human presence at sessions on Friday and Saturday.
The local USAS chapter, Trails of the Ancients Archaeological Society (TAAS), will host the convention at the Blanding Arts and Events Center, located at 715 W. 200 South, in Blanding.
The theme of the convention is “Who Passed This Way?” Speakers include Winston Hurst, Steve and Barry Simpson, Jonathan Till, Jody Patterson, Ralph Burillo and Sally Cole.
Other activities at the convention will include guided field trips to area archaeological sites. USAS members and friends are invited to participate.
