Grand County Middle School has chosen seventh-grader Sadie Groene and eighth-grader Kyson O’Donnal as its November Students of the Month.
Sadie is the daughter of Scott Groene and Christy Calvin.
Her teachers said Sadie has impressed them from the first day of school.
“She shows initiative, creativity, and enthusiasm for any and all tasks,” her teachers said. “She is very friendly and helpful.”
Sadie’s teachers said that she is “always willing to go the extra mile.”
“She is engaged, is able to think critically to solve problems and is very considerate of her classmates,” her teachers said. “Thank you, Sadie, for being a good role model in terms of work ethic and kindness.”
Her favorite book is “Throne of Glass.”
Sadie said of herself, “I am a vegetarian, left-handed and can sing the elements of the periodic table. I skipped second grade, and got first place in the Grand County Spelling Bee.”
Sadie’s advice to others is, “The best thing you can do is try and care.”
Kyson is the son of Shawn and Amber O’Donnal.
Kyson has been chosen by the teachers for his cheerful attitude, notable enthusiasm and consistent hard work.
“He is a great participator and makes a distinguished contribution to his classes,” Kyson’s teachers said of him. “He’s also an outstanding left-fielder in mat ball.”
His teachers said that even though the school year has just begun, he is “getting us off to a strong start by leading the way as a positive example to his fellow students. Thanks and congratulations to Kyson O’Donnal.”
Kyson said of himself, “I love camping, hunting, and my grandpa’s tacos. My favorite sport is baseball. I like helping people.”
He has two brothers, Easton, 6, and Brandon, 15.
Kyson’s advice to others is, “Be kind and confident.”
