“Wild Horses in Winds of Change”

This documentary focuses on America’s wild horses and how the Bureau of Land Management conducts its Wild Horse and Burro Program.

According to the filmmaker, the Wild Horse and Burro Protection Act says wild horses are to be managed as free-roaming and are to remain an integral part of the land where they are found.  Now, the filmmaker says, as thousands of wild horses and burros are rounded up from their free-roaming life on the range, tensions run high for their future.

“With close to 40,000 wild horses and burros discarded in long-term warehousing, the time for solutions is critical,” LeGrand said.

In the film, experts in the field challenge the current management system and the non-scientific myths and biased views about the wild horse.

“Heart and Soil”

The family documentary takes viewers into the rich landscape of the southwest by profiling farmers, farmer’s markets and farm-to-school programs.

“The farmers are an inspiration for us to dig in more, grow our own or support those who do for our personal and planetary health,” LeGrand said.

The film’s mission is to inspire people to act on behalf of local agriculture.
