World Trade Center Utah Managing Director Don Willie (center) talked about economic development on Friday, Aug. 11, as World Trade Center Utah representative Jim Porter (left) and Dr. Cynthia Gibson from Utah State University-Moab looked on.
County Community Development Director Zacharia Levine said the meeting gave local officials the opportunity to interface with statewide economic development partners who were in the Moab area following the 25K Jobs Tour event with Lt. Gov. Spencer Cox on Thursday, Aug. 10.
Local representatives had a chance to describe challenges and opportunities associated with business retention, expansion and recruitment in Moab.
Levine said that statewide partners shared information about their business support resources and offered recommendations for ways the local business community, city and county can collaborate to leverage the state’s renewed focus on rural development in meeting the community’s economic objectives.
