Susan Mead, September 4, 1937 – August 12, 2017

Susan Rosalie Winder Mead, age 79, passed away unexpectedly on August 12, 2017. She was born to Wallace and Roxie Winder on September 4, 1937, in Castle Gate, Utah.

She was preceded in death by her brother Charles Winder; her infant son Charles Mead; her husband Jerry Mead; her parents Wallace and Roxie Winder; and her brother Grant Winder.

She is survived by her daughters Belinda McKinnon (Bryan) of Moab and Terry Gary (Clive) of Cheney, Washington. She leaves behind six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many beloved foster children.

She loved spending time with her family. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed making quilts for family and friends. One of her greatest joys was tending her flower gardens. This is where she could often be found. She loved camping and the beauty of nature.

She was a member of the LDS Church and served faithfully in numerous callings throughout her life. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will take place as follows: Viewings will be held on Thursday, Aug. 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Spanish Valley Mortuary and on Friday, Aug. 18, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the LDS Stake Center on Locust Lane. A funeral will follow at 11 a.m. She will be laid to rest in the Wellington, Utah, city cemetery.
