Moab’s Margaret L. Hopkin Middle School is proud to announce Savanna Apadaca and Kymberlynn Jones as the January Students of the Month. These two outstanding students exemplify the values of kindness, dedication, and positive energy both in and out of the classroom.
Savanna Apadaca, our seventh-grade Student of the Month, brings positive energy to everything she does. She genuinely enjoys coming to school, and that enthusiasm is contagious. Beyond being a focused and studious pupil who always gets her work done, Savanna is incredibly kindhearted — she works happily with everyone and is always the first to offer help to a classmate in need.
She represents the school well by participating in activities and community outreach. Savanna loves sports, especially basketball and volleyball, and enjoys goofing around with friends. Her favorite subject is American History, and she dreams of becoming a nurse someday. Outside of school, she loves visiting family in Idaho and all things Disney. Her advice to fellow students: “Don’t judge people — you never know what they’re going through.”
Kymberlynn Jones, our eighth-grade Student of the Month, is a reliable, hardworking student whose work clearly reflects the effort she puts in. She brings an upbeat, cheerful presence to the classroom and spreads positive energy in her interactions with others.
Kymberlynn shows strong personal responsibility by staying on task and seeing every assignment through to completion. Her stellar work ethic and careful attention to directions allow her to complete tasks with enthusiasm and precision. Always kind and willing to help classmates, she’s a confident, natural leader who supports and uplifts her peers.
She likes playing softball, and her favorite sport is baseball. She’s also the girls’ basketball captain and enjoys dancing. Kymberlynn’s favorite class is history, and she’s traveled to 25 states. Her advice to others: “Someone else’s minimum is your maximum, so work harder!”
Congratulations to Savanna and Kymberlynn for being true standouts at MLHMS!
