Margaret L. Hopkin Middle School is recognizing two of its amazing students as the December students of the month: Tiger Evans and Kenzi Penner.
Staff report that seventh-grader Tiger Evans should be honored for her exceptional teamwork, positivity, and dedication to her peers and her studies. She consistently brings thoughtful insights to classroom discussions, fostering meaningful conversations and creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels heard and valued. Her ability to collaborate effectively with others stands out, as she always approaches group work with enthusiasm, patience, and a problem-solving mindset.
“Tiger’s kindness and encouragement uplift those around her, making her a role model in and out of the classroom,” school staff said. “We are proud to recognize her for her hard work, leadership, and the positive impact she makes every day.”
Tiger’s favorite class is strings, and she enjoys sketching and painting in her free time. She loves the beach, admires the gemstone Aventurine, and counts deep blue as one of her favorite colors. Interestingly, she isn’t a fan of sweets! Tiger’s advice for others? “Don’t give up on the things you enjoy doing.”
Eighth-grader Kenzi Penner is kind and thoughtful, say school officials. She always has a smile and a positive attitude and participates in class discussions, asking insightful questions. Kenzi is very organized and always ready to volunteer or lead a new project. She takes pride in everything she does and puts 100% in all her endeavors.
“She is someone you can count on and if given a responsibility, you know it will be done efficiently and in a timely manner,” staff said. “We are proud to recognize Kenzi for her hard work, leadership, and her impact on her fellow classmates and the staff.”
In her spare time, Kenzi loves golf, basketball, and hanging out with friends and family. She loves vacationing, especially to Hawaii. Kenzi’s advice to her fellow classmates is “Live in the moment, don’t stress the little things.”
Congratulations, Kenzie & Tiger, and thank you for making MLHMS and Moab a better place!
