Kirk Edward DeFond, 73, passed away peacefully in his home on October 27, 2023. He was born to Charles and Geraldine DeFond on January 14, 1952, in Glendale, California. His family later relocated to Salt Lake City, where he attended school. Kirk spent his adult life in Moab where he ran his own construction company and worked on numerous projects during his career.
Instead of getting married and having children, he pursued his many interests including music, outdoor sports and collecting anything antique and eclectic. He will be remembered for his sense of flare, sharp wit and charm.
Kirk is preceded in death by his parents and much loved sister. He is survived by his niece, nephew and multiple cousins. Kirk will be missed deeply by all who knew him.
At Kirk’s request, cremation has taken place and memorial services are pending at this time.
