It’s been a busy fall for our local student athletes!
GCHS Cross Country
The Cross Country Team competed in a race in Park City over the weekend. The boy’s Junior Varsity team took first place with six kids in the top ten runners. The girls’ team also had a great race with Cadence Kasprick in third and Ainsleigh Kasprick in seventh, overall the girls’ team took sixth only coming in behind 4 through 6A teams as a 2A group. Good job Red Devils!

After two more matches this week, the GCHS girls’ tennis record is 5 wins and 2 losses. Last week, the team won against Millard (5-0), and lost to Emery (0-5). [Courtesy photos]

MLH Middle football
The Margaret L. Hopkin Middle School football team played hard against Albert R. Lyman Middle, but ultimately lost their Sept. 5 game, 33 to 8. On Sept. 9, the Thunderbirds (MLH Middle) played Mont Harmon, winning with two late touchdowns for a final score of 14-12. [Jason Strother, jsmedia.io / Moab Sun News]
