The Friends of the Moab Folk Festival will receive a Challenge America award of $10,000 from the National Endowment for the Arts to support the 2023 Moab Free Concert Series. This grant is one of 262 Challenge America awards announced by the NEA as part of its first round of 2023 grants.
“We are honored to receive this NEA award,” said Friends of the Moab Folk Festival Director Cassie Paup. “The grant supports our mission to give back to the community by increasing local access to live music.”
The well-attended Moab Free Concert Series takes place annually at Swanny Park, highlighting different musical genres and serving as a highlight of a Moab summer.
“Projects such as this one with Friends of the Moab Folk Festival strengthen arts and cultural ecosystems, provide equitable opportunities for arts participation and practice, and contribute to the health of our communities and our economy,” said NEA Chair Maria Rosario Jackson in a statement.
