Cosmo’s Corner: Storytime with a Ranger!

Hello and meow, friends, it’s Cosmo the library cat with a special invitation to Storytime with a Ranger at Grand County Public Library! One advantage of living in Moab is that we have gorgeous state and national parks right here. We are also lucky to have wonderful park rangers living here who care for the parks and help people learn about them, and here’s your chance to meet one! Please join us on Saturday, Dec. 3, at 10:30 a.m. in the library’s large meeting room for a very special Storytime with Park Ranger Sofia Nicholson. Ranger Sofia knows all about our national parks and the plants and animals in our area! She will read us a story about what it’s like to be a park ranger and she’ll tell us about the desert we live in. We will also sing songs and make a craft! Storytime With a Ranger is geared towards children ages 3 to 10 and their caregivers, but all ages are welcome.

By the way, I’m so excited about the upcoming Storytime, I’ve composed a little song about the desert. Here’s what I’ve got so far:

“I’m a cat in the desert where it’s hot and dry,

Red rocks all around me, and clear blue sky.

In summertime, it’s even hotter

When you go outside, drink lots of water!

Meow Meow Meow Meow Meow!”

What do you think? My friends at the library say that I’m an OK songwriter, but I’m a truly great library cat. I’m pretty sure that means they like the song, so I plan on singing it a lot as soon as I make up a tune. Hope to see you at this special Storytime. Now I’d better go practice my song. Meow till next time!
