Ronald Dean Halstead, 83, passed away on November 12, 2022, peacefully in his home in Moab.
Ron was born in Elksville, Illinois, on February 4, 1939, but grew up in Sunnyside (east Carbon County), Utah. Ron was in the Marines for four years before he met the love of his life: Ron was married to Cookie for 54 years before she passed away in 2014. Ron worked as an electrician, locksmith, and in the uranium mines in the town that he loved.
He is survived by his kids, Ronda (Stacy) Wimmer and Paul (Annette) Halstead; and his grandchildren Courtney (Justin) Wimmer Onesto, Colby (Sarah) Wimmer, Cade (Felicia) Halstead, Trenton Halstead, Amberly Halstead, Tiana (Tyler) Halstead, and Sasha Halstead.
A service for Ron will be held in the spring of 2023. A viewing will be held November 19 at noon at Spanish Valley Mortuary before cremation.
