Moab resident Susan Mae Brady, 76, peacefully passed away during the early hours of Friday, Feb. 4. Sue was born on Jan. 18, 1946, in Chicago. She came to Moab in 1974 and worked at Allen Memorial Hospital (now Moab Regional Hospital) before working for doctor Robert O. Murray for 22 years. Following that and before she retired, Sue worked with children in special education in the Grand County School District, which she truly loved.
Sue was a woman full of kindness and grace, with a witty sense of humor. She was a playful instigator of fun who always found a way to make those around her howl with laughter. She was a generous, compassionate, determined, larger-than-life kind of woman. She took joy in seeing the beauty of things around her and enjoyed expressing herself through art. She loved to paint both watercolor and acrylics. One of her many favorite colors was green, because it represents so much life.
Sue is survived by her adoring husband of 45 years, Dean Brady; her three children, Liana (Rob) McFarlin, Susan (Tom) Thompson and David (Elizabeth) Brady; her four grandchildren, Ashley, Amber (Ryne), Derrick (Roli), and Ryan (Kimberly); and three great-grandchildren: Emma, Brooklyn, and Christopher.
All we have now are our memories. God has her in his keeping and we have her in our hearts. The family requests everyone who remembers her to celebrate Sue’s life in their own way. Sue would hope you would do a random act of kindness for someone in need in her name. The family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregivers and staff at Moab Regional Hospital.
At Sue’s request, cremation has taken place and a private family service will take place at a later date. You may send condolences to the family at www.spanishvalleymortuary.com.
