Violeta Z. Wynn, Feb. 2, 1966 – May 11, 2021

Violeta Z. Wynn, age 55, passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, after a short and aggressive illness.

Violeta was born on February 2, 1966, in Vilnius, Lithuania, but for a long time she lived in Kharkov, Ukraine.

Violeta moved to Moab in 2011 and for many years she worked at WabiSabi Thrift Store. She had recently started a job at City Market, which she absolutely loved! She was incredibly hardworking, responsible and had wonderful customer service skills. Most people remember her heartwarming smile and positive attitude.

Violeta’s biggest joy in life was her family. She loved them beyond words and was just as equally loved by them. Violeta is survived by her daughter, Irmina, and her granddaughter, Alisa, who both live in Ukraine. Alisa just barely turned 1 year old, and due to uncontrollable circumstances, Violeta never got a chance to meet her in person.

Violeta was always involved with local events. She volunteered at many of them, with her favorite being the WabiSabi Thanksgiving Community Dinner. Violeta loved theater and even performed in a Broadway show put together by Moab Community Theater. She also took part in Dancing with the Moab Stars, by representing Lithuania in the flag procession. Violeta loved books, flowers and collected toy monkeys. She was also madly in love with her yellow Volkswagen Beetle, which was a great addition to her already impeccable style.

Violeta had a challenging life. Shortly before her illness, she lived through a divorce, but she always overcame difficulties and was optimistic about the future. She absolutely loved life – challenges, good times and all – and felt blessed in so many ways! She had many friends and acquaintances with whom she loved to spend time. Violeta was a kind, helpful and positive person. There was a place in her heart for everyone around her. Violeta’s style and charming smile will remain forever in our hearts!

Please join us at Moab Old City Park on Sunday, May 23 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to celebrate Violeta’s life.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be donated to a Violeta Wynn’s memorial fund set up at Easter Utah Community Credit Union to help with final and medical expenses. You may send condolences to the family at www.spanishvalleymortuary.com.
