Venice Calvin Denney, September 6, 1929 – July 10, 2019

Venice Calvin Denney born September 6, 1929 to Ernest Harrison Denney and Winona May Byfield Denney, passed peacefully at home July 10, 2019. Venice, one of 11 children, moved with his family to Hansen, Idaho to farm. In 1948, Venice moved to Moab, where he met and married the love of his life Gloria Ann McDougall on May 15, 1951 in Aztec, New Mexico. Called to duty, Venice served in the Army, participating in the Korean War until March 21, 1953. As a Sergeant First Class, he received a Korean Service medal, 2 bronze campaign stars to Korean Service and a United Nations Medal. Venice loved the outdoors, farming, gardening, camping, fishing, hunting, rock collecting and relaxing in his cabin in old LaSal. Venice was preceded in death by his sweetheart, Gloria, Daughter-in-law Barbara, nine siblings, granddaughter Jennifer Kelly Custer, great grandson Connor Craig Denney. Venice leaves behind one sibling, Nadine Kopenick of Twin Falls Idaho, His children Kenney (Barbara), Kevin (Jan), Karie, Kelly (Rochell), all of Moab, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, in addition to many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
