Raymond Givan left this earth on July 4 to join his Heavenly Father at his final destination.

Givan was born on Feb. 1, 1937, in Wichita, Kansas, to Lawrence Raymond and Velma Mae Alexander Givan. Givan grew up and graduated high school in Wichita. In August of 1956, he was drafted in the U.S. Air Force where he served for four years. After his time in the service, Duran got a job working for the U.S. Postal Service where he worked until he retired. He came to Moab to be with his daughter after retirement.

He is survived by his daughter Terri Nixon (Tom aka his favorite son-in-law); granddaughters Christina Calhoun (Erik) and Ali Johnson (Amber); five great-grandchildren: Lukas, Nathaniel, Taylyn, Hannah and Kale; and his nephew Lyle Givan. He was loved dearly and will be missed terribly.

A funeral mass was held on July 9 at St. Pius X Catholic Church. A rosary service was held on July 8 at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Burial followed at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
