Three Moab students won $100 scholarship savings accounts as regional winners of Zions Bank’s Pays for A’s program: Tallulah Maher-Young of Grand County Middle School, and Jamie Day and Morgan Lewis, both of Grand County High School.
Pays for A’s rewards students who put in the effort to make their grades count. Chantell Noyes, manager of the Zions Bank Moab branch, surprised the students with their wins during morning school announcements at Grand County High School on May 21 and at Grand County Middle School on May 22.
Maher-Young, Day and Lewis were entered into the spring scholarship drawing by bringing their report cards to Zions Bank and getting paid for every “A” received. More than 2,200 students throughout Utah and Idaho entered the drawing.
“In an era of increasing costs for higher education, it’s more important than ever for students to start saving for the future,” Noyes said. “We’re proud that Jamie, Morgan and Tallulah have taken an important step towards achieving their academic goals.”
Over the past 15 years, Pays for A’s has rewarded thousands of students across Utah and Idaho for working hard in school. Students ages 12 to 18 can participate by bringing their most current term-end report card into any Zions Bank location. Students do not need a Zions Bank account to participate. They’ll receive $1 per “A” deposited into their savings account, or 50 cents per “A” if they opt for cash. For each “A” on their report cards, students are entered into a drawing to win one of 150 regional scholarship prizes each worth $100 and one grand prize worth $1,000 in each state.
