Kym Tyler Packard, 65, left this life on May 20 in Moab. He was born on March 9, 1954 in Salt Lake City to Wendell Rex and Norma Jean Packard (Pearce). Packard was awarded a master’s of nursing degree from the University of Utah. For many years he served our veterans as a nursing supervisor at the V.A. Hospital of Utah.
His employment tenure included the University of Utah Medical Center and Allen Memorial Hospital in Moab. Packard’s many contributions to his patients and staff were his guidance, expertise and loving care. He was a beautiful man with his blue eyes and soft curly blonde hair. More beautiful was his tender soul and loving heart. Packard felt his life was complete when he married the love of his life, his husband Tom. His favorite movie was “It’s a Wonderful Life” and his favorite song was “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”
Our sweet Packard, it was a wonderful life with you among us and you can finally fly beyond the rainbow with the other happy little blue birds.
Packard is survived by his husband of 41 years, Thomas Allen Ehmer. Brothers, Wendell (Brenda); Kevan Murphy; and Raymond Ehmer (Kim); and sister best friend Nancy Chartier. Nieces and nephews, Mike; Chid; KC; Troy; Sean; Laecie; Dylan; Mark and Austin Murphy; Matthew and Gregory Ehmer; Jeremy Nobis; and Shannon Nobis Scherer.
